FRUCTOSE IS 30% SWEETER THAN SUCROSE, BUT NEEDS THE PRESENCE OF GLUCOSE IN ORDER TO BE METABOLIZED IN THE INTESTINES; OTHERWISE, IT IS NOT COMPLETELY ABSORBED BY THE INTESTINE WALL, NOURISHING THE INTESTINAL FLORA, HAVING A DIETARY AND PREBIOTIC VALUE.
